Columbia Falls

The community of Columbia Falls city and the surrounding area boasts a great atmosphere that emphasized Montana hospitality and great times. It is a great location, just a short trip to Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, golf courses and the Big Mountain Ski Resort. Because of the area's proximity to Glacier National Park it is commonly referred to as the "Gateway to Glacier National Park". It is also the pathway to another scenic alternative (besides Hwy 2) route to Glacier National Park at the Camas Creek Park Entrance. You take the North Fork Road through some beautiful country and along the Western boundary of the park for about 20 miles and then enter the park through the Camas Creek entrance. There are wonderful places to stop for a picnic lunch along the way.

Columbia Falls offers a great variety of outdoor activities throughout the year. The Meadow Lake Golf Club is the only traditional, full-service golf resort in the area. It offers 18 holes of championship golf, a full service lounge and restaurant, and many other services including a full fitness center. The course is spectacular with views into Glacier National Park and the tree lined fairways. It is one of the more challenging layouts in the area with no lack of water hazards! Also in Columbia Falls is the Big Sky Waterside Park. Enjoy a day going down the thrilling waterslides, or in an inner tube through the cascading pools. There is also a kiddie water park, volleyball courts, a gigantic hot tub, miniature golf, arcade, and go carts. Take a break for lunch, there are barbecue grills set up where you can cook your own burgers or hot dogs. It is definitely fun filled entertainment. The winter season brings snow and a different kind of fun. There are miles of groomed snowmobiling trails in the area that make for a great ride or cross country skiing.

Columbia Falls has always been and continues to be the home to a variety of industrial businesses. Columbia Falls Aluminum Company, Plum Creek Timber Company, and Stoltze Land and Lumber are the largest. They employ many residents of Columbia Falls and the surrounding areas.
